Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process of beginning therapy?

We will start with a free and confidential 15-minute phone consultation so that I can get a sense of your needs and goals for treatment. If we decide it might be a good fit, the next step will be scheduling an in-person or virtual 50-minute assessment session, where I will get more details of your symptom history and background so that I can accurately evaluate if my treatment approaches might be helpful for you. Should we decide to proceed, we can begin meeting for ongoing sessions.

How often should we see each other?

I understand that deciding to attend therapy is a financial and time commitment. Frequency of sessions will depend on severity of symptoms, finances, and scheduling needs. I offer weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as-needed sessions for clients. We will make a decision together about what might be beneficial for you and we will continue to assess frequency as treatment progresses.

How long is each appointment?

Standard therapy appointments are 50 minutes long for individuals and couples. I also offer 30-minute and 90-minute sessions upon request.

What is your session fee?

My fee is $200 for each 50-minute individual or couples session. An assessment session will be the same rate as a standard session. If you are interested in 30-minute, 90-minute, or consultation sessions, please contact me directly.

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment will be made via a secure portal using a debit or credit card of your choice.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I have a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients in financial need. Please let me know if you have financial constraints, and we can discuss the possibility of sliding scale options.

Do you take insurance?

As an out of network provider, I do not take insurance at this time. However, I am happy to provide you with superbills for potential reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Should I do in-person or virtual sessions?

This is dependent on your preferences, location, and schedule. I offer in-person therapy in Irvine, CA. Virtual sessions are held for clients in the state of California via a HIPAA compliant, secure telehealth platform. A hybrid format is possible for clients who would like a blend of both in-person and online sessions.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies for each individual based on severity of symptoms, willingness, time, and environmental factors. I do my best to facilitate transparent and productive conversations about progress throughout the course of therapy, while holding space for realistic expectations.

What is your cancellation policy?

Scheduled sessions must be canceled prior to 24 hours of our appointment time. Sessions that are canceled or missed with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate, which is an estimate of expected charges that may accrue. To learn more about the Good Faith Estimate and No Surprises Act, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
